Coming back. Feeling grounded.

A note from Ken

Some places bring you back to yourself.

After nearly ten years away from the beach, Ken finally came back. The sound of the water, the open space, and sand beneath his feet reminded him how much this beautiful coast means to him—and how grounded he feels near it.

Returning with his wife and daughter made the moment even more meaningful. He felt lucky to share the coast with his family and began asking how he could help preserve it for his daughter and the generations after her.

Public Sand grew from that gratitude: a love for the coast, a sense of belonging, and a desire to care for the places that give us so much. Our roots run through Ventura, Venice, Santa Cruz, and San Francisco; this care belongs to everyone who finds their way to the water.
